Australia's Next Top Model – Final Fail

London/ During the live final of TV show Australia’s Next Top Model the presenter of the show, Sarah Murdoch announced the wrong winner. Kelsey Martinovich and Amanda Ware were the last two finalist. At first Kelsey Martinovich was announced as the winner but when she was making her acceptance speech she was interrupted by the announcer saying that there had been a mistake as the real winner was 18-year-old Amanda Ware.

Murdoch said: “I’m feeling sick about this. I’m sorry, this was a complete accident.”

On the other hand Martinovich, who had been under the impression she was a winner for only about a minute, showed to take the shock quite well by saying, “It’s OK, it’s an honest mistake.”

As a compensation Martinovich was awarded AUS$25,000 (£15,162) and a free trip to the US.

Whereas for the real winner, Amanda Ware won and eight-page spread in women’s magazine Harper’s Bazaar, a contract with Priscilla’s modeling agency, Levi’s campaign worth $25,000, cash prize $20,000, a new car and a trip to US.

The results for the finale was based on public votes.-Sangeeta, Mesa
