Khagendra – World's Smallest Man!!

London / “Big surprises often come in small packages” and for we Nepalese it sure did in form of Khagendra Thapa Magar. He has been (finally!!) crowned the world’s shortest man. He was presented with a certificate by Guinness World Records on his 18th birthday party. He is only 67.08cm (2ft 2.41in) to claim the crown of the world’s shortest man and more over he is even 3cm shorter than the previous title holder, Colombian Edward Hernandez.

In the ceremony where he got presented a cake double is size, he was in a very happy mood and cracking jokes with the guests. One acquiring the title of World’s Smallest Man he said that he don’t consider himself to be a small man as for him he is a big man and wants to get a better house, a better life for himself and his family as he is originally from a very poor family of a village outside Pokhara. He further added that he now wants to marry within two years and drive a red car.

At the age of 14 he was spotted by a traveling salesman and taken to local fairs where people paid to be photographed next to him. Later he was taken to Kathmandu where he formally applied to become the world’s smallest man. But even though he was the smallest man Guinness world records had some doubts about his age as they happen to believe that Nepal has a different calendar and the age of a person is measured not when they are born but when they are conceived ( where the hell that came from??? So, am I one year older than I m supposed to be if we go according to what they say??? Hmm… ). So, they had to wait until he turned 18 before giving him the title.
